If you want to experience the slow life of Suzhou, you must visit the city and enjoy the evening breeze on Shantang Street, walk along Pingjiang Road, and listen to music while sipping tea. Here's a 3-day itinerary:

  • DAY-1: Hanshan Temple- Liuyuan Garden-Shantang Street
  • DAY-2: Shiquan Street-Fengmen Hengjie-Jinji Lake-Dongfang Gate
  • DAY-3: Suzhou Museum-Humble Administrator's Garden-Pingjiang Road-Guanqian Street

For transportation, there are no airports in Suzhou, so you need to fly to Shanghai or Wuxi first and then take the high-speed train. Alternatively, you can take the high-speed train or regular train to Suzhou Station, Suzhou North Station, Suzhou Industrial Park Station, or Suzhou New District Station. The Suzhou Station is recommended since it is close to many attractions and has easy access to the subway system.

Here are some recommended attractions:

  • Suzhou Museum
  • Humble Administrator's Garden
  • Pingjiang Road
  • Guanqian Street
  • Xiyuan Temple
  • Tiger Hill Pagoda
  • Qili Shantang Street
  • Dongfang Gate

Make sure to visit Xiyuan Temple during the autumn season and wait until the evening to leave Humble Administrator's Garden. For tea and traditional Chinese music, visit Xianya Yuan Pinging Tea House. As for food, try Suzhou-style fresh meat mooncakes, Fengzhen Large Noodles, Hongbai Soup Ausnoodle, and Jitou Rice Porridge.
