✔Yunnan's food culture is rich and unique, and there are many dishes worth trying. Some of my favorites include pounded chicken feet, Dai-style grilled fish, and grilled meat. Here is a list of some of the best food spots in Xishuangbanna that I recommend for you to try and capture the perfect photo for your social media!
🔥【Chun Wuri】
This is a very popular eatery and has a seaside resort feel. The recommended dishes include lime chicken wings, Chun Wuri's three brothers, and Tom Yum seafood noodles. (Line up for a queue number at 11:00, and by 11:05 you might already be number 35. We finally ate at 13:30. It is recommended to go for off-line queue numbers, and plan your timing accordingly for the visit.)
🔥【Beilanpo·Lanmei Restaurant】
This restaurant has a tropical atmosphere and is located next to the Lancang River. The entire restaurant has open-air seating with plenty of green plants and flowers, making for great photo opportunities. The food is also delicious!
🔥【Qingmei Thai Restaurant】
This new restaurant has a great interior and is rumored to have a Thai chef with 16 years of experience. The Tom Yum Gai Mama noodles are stunning, and the rainbow shrimp and egg scramble is also quite good. The pineapple fried rice is delicious!
🔥【Luo Luo Ice House】
This is a 35-year-old Dai-style snacks restaurant. I only ordered desserts since I had already eaten lunch, and I tried the Papaya egg custard jelly, which was almost too sweet, and the mango and lotus shaved ice, which was delicious! The lemon tea was also amazing and worth taking away!
🔥【Dayi Tea Garden】
Dayi Tea Garden is just too good. It should be popularized across the country! Two cups a day is enough. Highly recommend the Keemun, Jinfupuer, and milk tea, osmanthus crystal tea with wine lees, and acid lemon crystal tea. The Pu'er egg cone ice cream is also worth trying!
🔥【Chun Mei Rice Noodle Stall】
This is a popular restaurant, but the food is really good! The portions of each dish are not large, so it's good to order several different dishes for good photos. The rice noodles taste great and are topped with the perfect ratio of condiments. The drinks are also good, and it's definitely worth going to this restaurant to take pictures!
🔥【Haya Garden】
This restaurant is highly recommended, and it is located in Manting Park, offering a very comfortable environment. I ordered the 98 two-person combo meal, which included 2 glasses of lemon tea, 2 specialty rice dishes, and muesli. The best part of their menu is muesli. I can't get enough of its coconut flavor and the richness of its pickles and condiments. It's like having summer all in one bite~
🔥【Mange Fruit Wholesale Market】
This fruit market is recommended by the restaurant owner, where you can buy fruit at a super affordable price, and you can now enjoy all kinds of snacks and desserts freely featuring some cut-rate prices. Blueberries are 20 yuan per kilogram, mangoes are 100 yuan for 30 kilograms, durians are 50 each, papayas and pineapples are also 50 yuan for 10 kilograms, and you can enjoy free delivery if you spend RMB 500 or more.
🔥【Menghai Dai Hometown Daiwei BBQ】
This is an authentic Dai-style barbecue spot owned by locals. It's in Gehua Zhuang, not a tourist area, but in a small alley near Mandou Village. Locals come here to eat. The grilled skewers are kept in the refrigerator, and small skewers are only a dollar each. They're very cheap, and the grilled food, the oil-spicy flavor, and the cold salad are all representative of the Xishuangbanna region and are delicious. You'll definitely want to come back here again!
🔥【Jianpuzhai Dai Delicious Restaurant】
This restaurant is the must-eat spot on the Xishuangbanna list. The Dai-style Baobing prefers to eat the sticky and delicious treasure rice. The portions are large, and the price is not expensive. You must try the Hand-Grabbed Rice when visiting Xishuangbanna.
🔥【Man Feilong Roast Chicken】
It is a Dai-style barbecue restaurant next to the Starlight Night Market. The grilled three-line dishes are fantastic! The grilled chicken and oily-spicy heart tubes are also delicious. The grilled chicken, fish, and meat are all very good. The grilled chicken is their specialty dish, and the restaurant interior is also quite artsy. It's right across from the Dajin Pagoda Temple, so it's easy to find.
🔥【Yuguang Dai Nuo】
This is a locally flavored sticky rice dish that you must try. Be sure to order dry-cured pork, eggplant, fried mushrooms, and sour beans to make it even better! The Water-Splashing Baobing dessert is also a must-try!
