l Fengdongshi Scenic Area: Tickets for 45 yuan, children/ students half price, 7:00-18:30 open, takes about 2 hours to tour the whole area on foot🚶♂️. The sea trail and lighthouse are very photogenic. The famous Fengdongshi is actually just a big rock; it's not really worth visiting just to see that.
l Nanwangtiantai: A location in the movie Left Ear, you can see a panoramic view of Nanmen Bay from the top of the platform. It's really pleasant to be there at dusk, but it requires a fee.
l Nanmen Bay: Great for taking photos, bustling day and night, and blowing the sea breeze is very enjoyable (free).
l Nanyu Shuangmian Sea🌊: A filming location in the movie Your Wedding, where the green lighthouse is very popular. You must check the tide times in advance, or else you might not be able to cross (free). The tide table in the scenic area isn't very accurate. There is always a tide between 6-9 a.m., so you should go early. Check the low tide time on the "Fisherman" app and go around 2 hours before it's at its lowest.
l Mirror Sand Beach/ Jinluan Bay: Best to watch a gorgeous sunrise 🌅, when the beach looks like a mirror reflecting the sunlight (free).
l Sufeng Mountain Coastal Road: Ride a small electric donkey and experience the romantic mountain and sea. The three-color lines and blue railings on the road, along with the vast blue sea, are very photogenic (free).
l Yanya Lovers: By the sea in Yanya Village are many rock formations. Sitting on the rocks and taking photos is the thing to do here (free).
l Maluan Bay: You can walk 💃 through the seaside woods and sunbathe under the beach umbrellas. The beach views are breathtaking (free).
l Oujiao Village: A beautiful small fishing village, great for taking photos (free).
l Fishbone Sand Shoal:
Every year from April to December, a wonder occurs on Dongshan Island: the Fishbone Sand Shoal. Its smallest area is a few acres, and its largest is over 500 acres. You have to wait until the tide recedes to observe this wonder.
📌📌 Travel Tips:
Navigate to Qixia Village Dock, Chencheng Town, Dongshan County, Fujian Province. You need to take a boat⛴ from the dock to the Fishbone Sand Shoal, which takes about20 minutes. There are many fish farms🦀 along the way, which are all breeding seafood. It's really spectacular. After arriving at the sand shoal dock, you need to walk along the floating plank road for a short distance to get on the sand shoal to play. Basically, each time period is different every day. The sand shoal is very hard, so it won't wet your shoes even if you wear them, and there are security personnel. Before you go, make sure to check for low tide time to avoid disappointment.
