Chuying Black Pig in Sanmenxia is the only product in China's pig breeding industry that has obtained national ecological origin protection.
It is understood that there is currently no unified standard for ecological breeding at the national and industry level. Chuying Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Group is building a 400,000-acre ecological pig breeding base in Sanmenxia, which is a bold exploration and innovation in the field of ecological breeding. The protection of ecological origin products for Chuying Black Pig in Sanmenxia is a full affirmation of its ecological breeding practices, which helps enhance the awareness of fine breed protection in China's livestock industry and promotes the exploration of new models for pig breeding, and promotes the sound and cyclical development of animal husbandry industry.
Different from conventional captive breeding, Chuying Black Pig in Sanmenxia adopts the grazing and free-ranging breeding method, and is fed until it reaches the age of more than ten months. The grazing time needs to be reasonably adjusted according to the weather, feed crops, and the size of the pigs. Pigs in some stages that are not suitable for free-ranging, such as conservation, pregnancy, birth, or reserve, will follow scientific feeding management methods for artificial breeding. At the same time, through the form of plant-animal cultivation integration, pig manure is used for vegetable fertilization, achieving land-use return and ecological return, reducing pollution.
To ensure the quality and safety of pork, Chuying Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Group implements "six unifications" (unified piglets, feed, drugs, epidemic prevention and disinfection, slaughter and sales, and unified process management) in managing the base. Farmers who cooperate with the group do not need to spend extra money to purchase feed or vaccines, and if they have any technical problems, the pig farm technicians will help solve them. Weak links in the farming process, such as piglets, feed, drugs, and epidemic prevention, are undertaken by Chuying Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Group. Market fluctuations are borne by the group. Finally, Chuying Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Group also provides guaranteed profits for cooperative farmers, relieving their worries. This "Chuying mode" fully mobilizes farmers' enthusiasm and sense of responsibility, which is beneficial to maximizing product safety.
The ecological circular chain is formed in the breeding process of Chuying Black Pig in Sanmenxia. In the grazing area, on one side are healthy and plump Chuying Black Pigs, on the other side are green planting areas, and there are also biogas tanks and purification equipment. The feces generated from pig breeding are used for land fertilization through cleaning equipment, and solid dry feces are centrally processed into organic fertilizer. After treatment, the dung water produces biogas, which solves the lighting and heating problems in the breeding area. The produced sludge and liquid are used for growing vegetables and seedlings. Vegetables and green plants become pig feed, saving breeding costs and effectively supplementing ecological breeding. By developing integrated plant-animal farming and recycling, the ecological breeding base of Chuying Black Pig in Sanmenxia has effectively achieved green and environmentally friendly breeding and ecological balance in the grazing area.
Production environment:
Sanmenxia is a national forest city with continuous mountains, dense vegetation, diverse ecology, and characteristics of origin. The mountains distant from residential areas create a natural epidemic prevention barrier for breeding. Rich vegetation provides sufficient natural green feed for black pigs. The diverse ecology provides unique resource advantages for developing ecological animal husbandry.
Chuying Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Group's ecological breeding base in Sanmenxia has a cumulative investment of about 4 billion yuan, using more than 400,000 acres of barren mountains and hills in Shanxian, Mianchi, and Lushi counties, building a national standardized ecological breeding base. After completion, it will achieve an annual output of 1 million Chuying Black Pigs. Such a low breeding density provides sufficient space for Chuying Black Pigs in Sanmenxia to move freely.
